Abstract
In recent years there has been a growing interest in field theories of fractons, quasiparticles
with restricted mobility. It has been shown [1] that the topological defects of two-dimensional
crystals can be described by such a fracton theory using a duality transformation. In this talk
I will present an extension of this method to the defects of twisted moiré superlattices [2],
most notably twisted bilayer graphene. It reveals even stronger mobility restrictions
compared to usual lattices due to an additional twist stiffness in the Lagrangian.
