In our group we investigate collective phenomena in quantum materials. The interplay of different degrees of freedom of both electronic nature, consisting of spin, charge and orbital, and the atomic lattice can lead to macroscopic quantum phenomena with extraordinary electronic, magnetic and mechanical properties in such materials. We investigate these with theoretical methods, also to explain and predict experiments.
