Abstract

Harvesting the properties of two-dimensional materials in quantum nano-structure devices could lead to unprecedented electronics applications. We present several case studies where we explore different types of two-dimensional structures. Special attention is paid to the great advantage of the external tuneability of these properties, for example, by choice of material’s combinations, stacking order, twist angle, strain, or external fields. In the next step, we discuss how quantum nano-structure applications can profit when designed using two-dimensional materials with novel and tuneable properties.
